Meet Elle, a young working-class girl growing up and coming out in the North. With live original music, Elle sings- speaks- swears her way through a story of love. The honest kind, with ‘The Big Light on’, leaving nowt behind.
Summer 2009.
Living in a high-rise with her mam,
working at ‘Chips & Dips’ full time,
gigging when she can-
She’s satisfied. She thinks.
Until the arrival of Eve-
Like an alien plonked in front of her.
Like a different breed.
Posh hair and a freckle on her chin.
From that moment onwards,
nothing was ever the same again.

"Funny, when someone different enters your world- you notice yourself more..."

Written, composed and performed by Lauryn Redding,
BLOODY ELLE- a gig musical is full of humour, honesty and heart.
Presented by The Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester and Rebel Productions, directed by Bryony Shanahan.
BLOODY ELLE- a gig musical is set to an original score. Building loops and layers of sound that make you feel like there is a ten-piece band on stage, transporting the audience to a sweaty, packed out gig in the back of a pub or a 10,000 seat arena.
It’s a night out. A knees up.
It’s a love story- I guess.
